I had a great time visiting The Tiverton Food Festival on Sunday. Pity it wasn't better publicised!
There were some great stands (just great for a foodie like me) but the highlights of my visit were Devon Smokehouse - loving the Smoked Devon Sea Salt and the Coconut & Lime infused Salt - and I absolutely loved Janice Voce's (AKA Fancy That! Outside Catering) amazing take-away Caribbean Food (Salt Fish & Ackee and Goat Curry - Yummy!).

Glad you enjoyed the day but publicity wise, doesn't personally distributing 5,000 leaflets door to door throughout Mid Devon count? Marketing budgets just don't stretch to big press ads anymore I'm afraid. It's all about personal service. Anyway a big thanks to the 3,000 people who came along on the day - you're amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Lisa - sadly you didn't give me an email address to reply personally.
ReplyDeleteAs you have found my blog, I guess your have realised that I live in Mid-Devon (only a few miles from Tiverton) and I, and several people, including local food producers, in my local area only found out about the food festival a few days before it was due to take place. I certainly did not receive a leaflet through the door!
I appreciate your comments about marketing - Facebook & Twitter spring to mind as free marketing tools!
I'm really glad the day was so successful for you and I am looking forward to your plans for any future events.
